I’ve been invited to play golf before but I was always intimidated by the unknowns of a “first time experience” and didn’t want to make a fool out of myself. What club should I use? What does “away” mean? When do I pick up my ball or let others play through? What clothing should I wear? And the biggest questions of all…”How do I avoid embarrassment and at least act like and old pro my first time out?”
- Britton and Cassie
- Kelly and Todd
- Doesn’t Todd look like someone is pitching him a ball?
- Check out that form! Wonder where so got her golf shoes?
- Britton needed his glasses to see the ball
Saturday, I decided to give golf a try for the very first time. Todd, Cassie and Britton have all golfed before (at least once
). By all accounts, I assumed Todd was a seasoned player, but by his performance on Saturday…not so much.
My conclusion after my first golf outing? Golf is a tough game that tries your patience! I’m competitive by nature, and it’s just not fun to be the worst one in the group. However, after I took Todd’s advice and stopped being so serious (this only happened after I realized there was NO WAY I was going to win the round)…I ended up having a lot of fun!
How many calories can the average person burn playing a round of golf? What about if you walk the course rather than “cart it”?
