What I Ate Wednesday

I have seen that many food blogs will have a What I Ate Wednesday section, so I thought I might try that for this Wednesday.

Usually for breakfast I have some fruit of some sort. I really like berries like strawberries, blueberries and raspberries because they don’t really need any prep and can be eaten alone or folded into cereal, yogurt or even on top of waffles or pancakes. It’s important to always eat some protein, even if it’s just a little with your fruit breakfast. This helps make the meal last through to lunch. I like 0% fat Greek yogurt or my chickens’ eggs.

For lunch, I usually come home from work and make a quick sandwich or something easy like that.

And then for dinner Britton and I cook up a good meal, like this one from last night of shrimp and vegetable stir fry:

Shrimp and vegetable stir fry with rice

It was made with zucchini, red and yellow bell peppers, carrots, garlic, celery, mini corn, and water chestnut. It was seasoned with turmeric, low sodium soy sauce, paprika, cumin a little honey and pepper. And it was delicious! We also shared an Izze which is a sparkling fruit juice drink. We only drink them on occasion because they are basically only a notch better than soda.

Sometimes I’ll still crave something sweet and I’ll have a handful of chocolate covered almonds or m&ms but I am working on that! :-) I also will snack in the afternoon on cheerios or a piece of fruit and maybe a beer in the evening. Otherwise, that is a day of food in my life! Hope you enjoyed!

How close to your daily meals would this come? Do you eat enough fruit and vegetables? Are your portions the right size? How do you make healthy choices appealing and easy all day long?

What do you think of this post?
